A Captive of My Own Soul

People- in captivity to themselves, a kingdom, and Satan. The flesh first tries to control a person in the mystery of its forces, which are anti-love and anti-welfare. You will attack your own humanity as you live in unstable emotions, inconsistent desires, and erratic decisions and thoughts. Your flesh will try to regulate your behavior in the irregularity of its own patterns, trying to make it by being good, then yielding to the present temptation and being evil. You vacillate between good and evil. The flesh, your enemy, comes against the personal Spirit of truth Who gives you the power and convictions of God.

The kingdom of darkness, with spirits in every place in the world, will come against you. It is organized with amazing order in a definite spiritual realm. Satan, the god of it (Ephesians 2:2), concentrates his atmospheric hold upon us. His demons seek to frustrate grace and to lead us into using our flesh to go against the Spirit. His purpose is to defeat Christ in you and in the Body.

We are subject to a conspiracy against the Body. A personal idol fights a personal Savior. Personal flesh turns against a personal Spirit. It is the battle of all the ages. Satan can perform supernaturally, imitate, counterfeit, and reproduce. His desire, always to be impossible, is to produce a man like Christ and to raise a people who would be good, dedicated, consecrated people. Why such a desire? So Satan can say that people are good without Redemption.
