The subject of God-ordained leadership is extremely crucial. Adam does not like to obey it. Personality clashes have difficulty accepting it as a principle of living in Christ, and it produces misunderstandings and problems because of Adam's cursed condition. This subject goes beyond the misunderstandings of Adam's humanity and takes us into the truth of God's provision. Many leaders do not dare teach this subject and other subjects as well because they are insecure about the consequences. This subject is a method or means by which God will bless a person.
In Genesis 12:1-3, we read three key verses that deal with God blessing and choosing a person as well as using a person as an instrument to bless other people. "I will make you a great nation. I will bless you. Your name shall be great, and you shall be a blessing." God is emphasizing the person, Abraham. This was a great personal promise; it was not given to 500 like Abraham, but it was given to Abraham. Furthermore, God continues and says, "I will bless them that bless thee and curse them that curse thee." People must realize the divine specifics in this personal principle of God's program. Notice, there were no conditions based upon Abraham's life. Abraham became a blessing because of God's election to grace through foreknowledge.
We also are to be aware of such true principles because they are likewise reiterated in the New Testament. Are you floating in independence, without truly receiving and blessing the one God has sent?
