Throughout our lives we will meet up with giants, seemingly immovable obstacles. What will you do when faced with a Goliath? He was dressed up in apparel especially made for warfare. Giants always come ready to make a natural attack to accomplish fleshly goals. There are two methods of warfare that we use: We can see the giant and see his apparel and decide to fight his way. We can dress our flesh up with all its natural strength and face the fight. Or, we can realize that fleshly garments do not fit our spiritual life and decide not to war after the flesh because the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but are mighty through God (2 Corinthians 10:4).
Goliath offered Israel a conditional settlement. Satan wants us to think that if we don't fight him or fight in some area in our life that the spirit may end up serving the flesh. No! We never have to entertain a conditional settlement when God already has given us an unconditional victory. This does not mean that we may not suffer temporarily in the battles of life because of lack of appropriation of truth. It does mean that God is no respecter of persons and that you can experience the victory before you have won because you are hid in the Winner. We don't have to fight. The battle is over and the giant is defeated, and we are the champion. So take off your boxing gloves, ring the bell of victory, and soon you will find that the opponent will get sick and tired of hearing about his loss.
