The Power of God

What is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe? It is a question well worth considering. So many Christians seek for a demonstration of the power of God in the wrong way. Certainly, we can see power in healing and in deliverance from demonism. We can see power in the overshadowing of a frail, weak man for use as a mighty preacher or teacher; but the exceeding greatness of His power is the power of God to cause us to be one with Christ and one another in the Corporate Body of Jesus Christ through love.

If you read carefully Ephesians 1:15-21, a beautiful picture begins to appear. All that the Father did for Christ was toward us! His power toward us was worked out in Christ and then we were simply accepted into Him! Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ Who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places IN CHRIST!

The power of God is His ability to love me right into Jesus Christ as a member in particular of His Corporate Body. All that Jesus Christ is, we as members of His Body are (1 John 4:17). All the blessings, power, might, wisdom, compassion, and glory that is due solely to Christ has been freely shared with us. "To the praise of the glory of His grace through which He has made us accepted in the beloved." That is the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe.
