Decreasing More and More

Everyday a battle rages between two forces-the wicked and the righteous: natural viewpoint and God’s viewpoint; works and grace; and light and darkness. They come against each other with amazing force through thoughts, projections, confessions, works and doctrine.

Through these battles, God builds in our lives something that will last forever. He uses them to conform us into Christ’s image and to add another degree of glory to our lives. “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” (II Corinthians 3:18).

In order for God to build these things into our lives, we must be willing to accept whatever comes from His hand. Because “the wise in heart will receive commandments” Proverbs 10:8a). We must welcome the voice of our teacher, the Holy Spirit, when He challenges us to take up a cross, even if it is an unknown pathway. We should welcome the crucifixion of our flesh in the same way we would a raise in pay! It is the plan God has for you. As we submit to God’s hand in our lives, we will decrease more and He will increase.
