Everything that happens to us as believers is for our sakes. “God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear” (I Corinthians 10:13, NIV). You have given your life to God, and he is able to keep you. “I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day” (II Timothy 1:12b, NIV).
Do not become defensive, or allow fear and negativity to come in when you face battles in life. Remember that you are a child of God (2), a royal priest (3), more than a conqueror (4), and God has already finished the work (5). You represent a kingdom in which the devil has been defeated and your sins are paid for. You are God’s child now and He will only plan things to happen for your ultimate good. “All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God” (II Corinthians 4:15b, NIV). Let thanksgiving flow out of your heart as you rest secure in the arms of God. He will uphold you with His righteous hand (6), and strengthen you with all power according to His glorious might so that you may have endurance (7).
