Linked to Him

The prospect of hope for the future has a foundation in the past, which is the historical resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead on our behalf (2); (3). It is this foundation that causes our destiny to be inextricably tied to Christ’s destiny (4); (5). It is God’s ultimate purpose to bring many sons to glory. Christ’s resurrection made him to be the first fruits from the dead. “But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the first fruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming” (I Corinthians 15:20-23). He ascended into heaven for us as the forerunner (6). “First fruits” means that there are others who will rise to reign with Him. Our resurrection is linked to His, and is and absolute certainty because He rose. Those of us who have believed that God has raised Him from the dead shall be raised up. This perspective, objective hope causes us to be very bold. It also gives us a certainty to hold onto with hope, knowing that one day we will see it come to pass.
