Making a Difference

There are thousands of church services throughout the world that honor Jesus Christ, glorify God, and preach the truth. Many men and women serve God diligently, and sincerely love God. But there is a great lack of warmth today in the church of Jesus Christ because many believers do not keep their hearts on fire. Many churches do not keep their hearts on fire. This is one thing that characterizes much of Christendom – its coldness of heart.

One of the most vital ways to keep your heart warm is to keep in touch with Calvary. Let the eye of faith show you Jesus Christ taking your place on the cross. Consider that every personal sin was transferred to Him. He was perfect; He never sinned. He loved you when you were guilty. You cannot think of Calvary in the power of the Spirit without having it break your heart.

“Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And of some have compassion, making a difference” (Jude 21,22). Godly compassion makes a difference. When you find your heart growing cold, stop and gaze at Calvary. Not only will your heart be warmed, but you will have godly compassion for those around you because your frame of reference will be brought back to its correct position – the cross of Calvary. It will make a difference in your life.
