God’s light is inside of every Christian. The question is, who can see it? A lot of people do, because many Christians have let God break them.
God breaks the vessel. When the vessel is broken, the light shines for others to see. God commanded the light to shine out of darkness, and He shined this light in our hearts to “give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”
What does God use to break the vessel? He uses trouble. We are troubled on every side, yet not in distress. We are perplexed, but not in despair. We are persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; always bearing about in our body the dying of the Lord Jesus (2 Corinthians 4:7-10).
Why does God allow times of trouble? So that the life of Jesus may be made manifest. When we are hard pressed, we hang onto every word of truth we have received. Sufferings and trouble can make us mature, established, strong, and settled (1 Peter 5:10).
Difficulties can cause us to draw near to Him. The narrow way leads to life.
