Taste Redemption in Cambodia

See God Work

We are in Cambodia and seeing God work. We can taste the redemption. People are open and ready to hear about the grace of Jesus.

Cambodia has had to go through such traumatic and tragic pain in the past. Pol Pot and the aftermath of confusion after the Vietnam war.

College Students and Bibles in Khmer

Chad, Phillip and3d I have been going each day to the campus of the #1 University in this country. We find the students gladly take time to sit and talk with us. We are making friends and sharing the gospel comes easy. Most students speak English. We exchange phone numbers and Facebook friend cc4onnect. We have met many of them 2, 3 and 4 times. We give them Bibles in their Khmer c7language and Jesus Film dvds. We have met Bang Chay, Chheng, Kimchhorn, P-Mon, P-Cet, Seth, Piseth, Tee, Chaal, Heng, and many others with names difficult to pronounce.

We will go back to the University to follow up our new friends and help them know more of who Jesus Christ is.

Vietnac5mese Learns about God

A Vietnamese man named “Mike” traveled 10 hours by bus to be with us for 2 days. We met him last summer on our trip. Phillip had shared Jesus and friendship with him and he was touched by God last year. After we left, he had met another Christian who further ministered Christ to him. Mike said, “Phillip was the first to open the door for me to learn about God.” When he heard we were in Cambodia but not able to come to Vietnam this time, he traveled to be with us. Mike even helped us share the gospel to college students in Phnom Penh.

English Lessons and Village Churches

We have been teaching English on some evenings to children with a church ministry called Living Fc2aith. Pastor Bora and his assistants were kind enough to let us sit in and teach the youth in English lessons. They may want to hire some of us to teach full time if we move here in the future.

On the weekends we have been doing ministry with village churches. There is a network of Baptist churches that asked us to visit. We did outreach in the villages and even played soccer and basketball as a youth outreach. Some of the Baptist churches are led by Filipino missionaries. It is awesome to see their faith and sacrificial service.

We will also go to another village to see Pastor Tin, a precious man of God that God put on our hearts from last year’s trip. He runs a school for poor village children and teaches them English and it doubles as a church on Sundays. His ministry is the only witness for miles and miles in a remote place and we want to continue a relationship with him. Greater Grace in Bangkok has sent teams to train his staff in the Bible all during this last year. Pastor Tin loves Greater Grace and is learning the Word, along with his key leaders.

Joy on Her Face

God loves Pon

Last year, some of the girls from our Greater Grace team met street children and ministered to them. One street girl named Pon is 12 years old and made a great connection with the girls on our team in 2015. Well, we met Pon again at 10 at night still selling little bracelets on the street. We brought her a gift the Greater Grace girls had prepared for her in case we met her. You should have seen the joy on her face when she received the gift bag that Liz had made for her. Pon was so happy the Christians did not forget her!

Deep Love

Much could be said about the deep impression of love God is putting in our hearts for the Cambodian people, knowing His calling for us to come back here full time. PRAY FOR THOSE DETAILS TO COME TOGETHER FOR 2017 LAUNCH DATE.

We will finish our trip as we started with a visit to Greater Grace Bangkok Thailand, with Arm and then Pastor Ryan and Ek who has started a Cambodian church in Bangkok area called Mahachai.

THANKS FOR PRAYERS. LETS POUR OUR LIVES OUT FOR PEOPLE AND NATIONS WHO HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THE LOVE OF JESUS. THEY DON’T KNOW WHO JESUS IS. LET’S TELL THEM AND SHOW THEM.

MANY OF YOU IN OUR CHURCHES IN AMERICA SHOULD SERIOUSLY CONSIDER A CAREER OF OVERSEAS MISSIONS. CAMBODIA, VIETNAM, INDIA, NEPAL, INDONESIA, CHINA AND JAPAN ARE GOOD PLACES TO START WHERE THE DOOR IS SO WIDE OPEN NOW. ALL YOU GOTTA DO IS WALK THROUGH. JESUS IS WITH YOU.     Pastor Doug
