World Cannot Provide
We have now been in Japan for nearly one year and have gained some perspective of the Japanese lifestyle. There are so many great things to be learned, especially in terms of etiquette, respect for others, and work ethic. We have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know people here and share a part of their lives. Though they are one of the most advanced technological societies, it is very evident that these dear people have something missing in their lives, that which the world cannot provide. There is a spiritual hunger for something divinely bigger than what is seen. So many people here (in the millions) do not know God, have never read the Bible, and have never heard about Jesus Christ.
Though it was a little longer and farther travel to Greater Grace Baltimore’s International Convention this year (6,765 miles), we were greatly encouraged by the messages and fellowship in the Body. We took the love and messages back to Japan and experienced such an amazing response. In the first two weeks, we were able to witness to several Japanese about Jesus Christ, and they all personally accepted Him into their hearts and are eager to learn more about the Bible. Praise the Lord!
One Japanese woman named Naoko said that she was amazed that “God can be my personal friend”. She also commented that she was very glad to know that “going to God is not complicated. He makes it simple. I can go to Him at any time.” Please pray for Naoko and her spiritual growth.
Another Japanese young man named Takumi gave a remarkable answer when asked, “What do you consider to be the most important thing in life?” He said, “The heart”. We then asked if he believes that God has a heart, and he said “yes”. He further said that he is very happy to learn that “God loves me”. Please pray for Takumi, that he would grow to be a man of God.
We anticipate a great harvest because we truly sense God’s heart for Japan and are empowered by His overwhelming love for this beautiful nation.
“Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? Behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.” John 4:35-36
So blessed to be in God’s grace,
