Who can “out-endure”?
As a boxer trains to strike, he must first train to stand. His agility to block and defend are directly related to his stance. His feet are pivotal, shifting body weight to strike or to re-adjust his balance so he is not knocked over. The ability to be a moving target and deflect incoming blows depends greatly on the stance, posture and agility. In time the boxer can anticipate the moves of His opponent. He sees the weaknesses as well as the strengths. He doesn’t underestimate the power of His opponent but he masters the basics so that he can “out-endure” him.
Who do you stand in?
As with us, we must stand strong in the power of God’s might. Knowing who HE is, and Who we are IN Him! What a life changing moment to enter into – thinking with God, thinking in our training, and experiencing God’s ability within us. Our spiritual agility keeps us flexible as things change. In a moment, we could be experiencing joy, heart ache or fear, anything can happen at any time. One thing that never changes is WHOM we stand IN. Christ is stable, He is unchanging. Leaning and abiding in Him keeps us standing securely. We may feel at times we are teetering, but He has us fully in His grip. He supports and carries us when we are weak. He brings us through it all.
Where is your focus?
In God’s plan we need spiritual agility. Being flexible with grace adjustments allows us to be led my the spirit. God doesn’t follow our direction we are to follow Him. Our focus is what enables us to stand securely or fall utterly. 1 Corinthians 10:12 “So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! As we look to the Lord, and put our hope in Him, Christ will be our shield and defender. Just as a baseball player plants his feet for the big hit, we must do the same, expecting God to move. We are the object of God’s love and grace, and we can’t change that!
