Touch Him

Many times when we have a problem or sickness, we feel as though no one wants to bother with us. The same was true when people were still under the law. If anyone touched a sick person, he was considered defiled and unclean. (2). Therefore, many people were outcast because of their sickness. No one would come near or even associate with them.

Then Jesus came and He touched those who were sick, and made those with leprosy whole (3). Jesus is not ashamed to be touched with our infirmities. “For we have an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities” (Hebrews 4:15a). When the woman with the issue of blood touched Jesus’ cloak, Jesus asked, “Who touched Me?” he did this not because he was ashamed to be touched by her, but because He wanted her to make a confession that she was healed.

It is so reassuring to know that whatever is troubling you, whether it is sickness or sorrow, Jesus is there to heal and comfort you. He is our high priest who has been tempted, and has suffered just as we are. He is there with all power (4), waiting to help you. Reach out and touch Him.
