An Overcoming Walk

As Christians, we are to be very careful to watch for our adversary who is continually seeking to destroy us (2). He accuses us day and night (3), constantly setting a net for our feet. “Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me” (Psalm 31:4a). Our deliverance from the devil and his plan is simple. It is based upon our walk with the Lord, which keeps us from the evil plans set against us. “He who walks uprightly walks surely, but he who takes a crooked way shall be found out and punished” (Proverbs 10:9, Amplified).

The word “uprightly” is “tom” in the Hebrew; and it is used with a special emphasis on the mind, or in other words, having integrity (mental excellence) of the mind. In order to overcome the mastermind of evil, we must walk uprightly with mental excellence. We must contain a goal in our minds and consequently, fulfill that goal. We must build the categories of the Word in our soul so that we can walk uprightly and make our way sure, confident and extremely secure. Then, we will truly have an overcoming walk and not be overtaken by life’s pressures.
