Summer Harvest Europe – student report

b

Light Shining

Summer harvest in Europe has been really Spirit led… God’s light is shining in some of the darkest times and events here.
My trip began in Chester, UK, where I was so edified to spend a few days with our beautiful church, with Pastor Alastair and Cathy Craddock, and evangelizing. The church is going forward in the joy of the Lord, despite hardships.

Chester

After that, I was in Nimes, France. God has been increasing the church there a lot. We went on a “church vacation” in the mountains near Lyon with the French and Swiss churches. The time shared together with many that I had not seen in a while was so sweet, hearing of God’s work in  each life. We also had two days in Lyon (where Pastor David Rouquette pastors a Greater Grace Church) of evangelism, sketch board, and inviting people to an evening meeting both nights. We saw God working in the hearts of many French people. We talked to many Muslims who were very curious about us and wanted to know about Christ. One young Muslim came out to our evening meeting and said at the end of it that he was very interested in what we believe.

Lastly, I was in Belgium with Pastor Gary Groenewold and the team. Webelgium have been amazed by God’s heart for this place, which is almost a forgotten country. We have had the blessing of speaking to many and sharing the gospel with them. A Belgian lady told us that since the terrorist attacks people live in hatred and there is no more love and peace.

Love’s Impact

We have seen God touch hearts through His peace and love. Our message is the unconditional love of God. I think of Florent, who we spoke with for a long time. We shared our testimonies with him of how Jesus has touched us and changed our hearts. He seemed to hang on to every word and asked many questions. We also had the opportunity to visit a church outside of Brussels in a village, and hear their love and vision for the people of this country. We have been  so touched by hearing the history of Christianity in Belgium, and we are really believing God that this is the time, more than ever, to be here and watch God’s love make an impact in peoples lives.

It has been such a privilege for me to be here with God’s love and message this summer, and to believe God for His work in these places and in the hearts of people. God’s love has no limits. by Sarah Goodey, MBCS student
