There are two unique approaches to the Lord Jesus Christ. There is the concept of coming to the Lord on Mount Sinai. When God spoke on the mountain, the people of Israel feared (Hebrews 12). It was a mountain of judgment and condemnation. Unfortunately, there are many believers who operate from Mt. Sinai. They judge and condemn other Christians. No man is holy or righteous enough to live on that mountain. It was definitely a place of death!
“For they could not endure that which was commanded, and if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart. And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake” (Hebrews 12:20-21). Thank God, there was another mountain for believers to approach. It was called Mt. Zion. “But ye are come unto Mt. Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem (1a). The law of Sinai is faithful in us on Mt. Zion. Romans 8:4 says, “That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” God’s righteousness is fulfilled in us, not by us. Every blood bought child of God does not have to come to a mountain filled with the smoke and blackness of Mt. Sinai. God has given to His people and the whole world a throne of grace to which we can come boldly (2). It is up to each individual to decide daily which mountain he wants to dwell upon.
