Our spirituality is based on the measure of our obedience to God. Our faith is measured by believing His Word. Our ability to think is measured by how much we receive the Word of God. We measure grace by what we freely give to those who do not earn it, and mercy by how often we put grace into action by faith. Our forgiveness is measured by the precious, inexhaustible blood that Jesus shed on Calvary. We can so readily measure things as God sees them!
The first way we are measured is by how much we receive God’s love and grace. Jesus said if we ask anything in His name He will do it, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. Ask anything and He will do it!
In John 14:15, Christ said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” Notice that the motivation for our obedience is love. If the love of God is flowing in our hearts, then we are receiving that measure of God’s eternal life which cannot be measured by time.
