The Word of God is everything to a Christian. It is spirit and life (2), it cleanses (3), heals (4), and causes us to be settled with Christ (5). There are no gray areas in it. Though it contains all knowledge, its message is portrayed in great simplicity. So simple in fact that many refuse to believe, “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ” (II Corinthians 11:3).
Our life with the Word is to be based on objectivity. Objectivity is defined as something that is not influenced by emotional or personal prejudice; having a material object as distinguished from a mental concept. Satan causes people to look outside the Bible for answers. When God gives a gift, it is always in objectivity and practicality. The devil tries to draw people away from this by causing people to think subjectively.
It is so important that we cling to the simplicity of the Bible. The Word of God is more important than anything in our lives, even our physical food (6). We are to live, “be upheld and sustained” by every Word of God (Matthew 4:4, Amplified). Cling to your very life – God’s Word.
