Divine creativity is not sentimental; it does not restrain communication when necessary. It utilizes all the spiritual rooms of the soul, and is motivated by love in the operation of grace to speak wisdom at the right time, in the right place, with the right words. It is sensitive-defining when to speak and when not to speak. Oftentimes, the person on the receiving end lacks the capacity to respond to truth because he is tired and weary.
Finally, divine creativity, applied in wisdom, through the outpouring of God’s love will work beautifully in most situations. We must remember that the natural man lacks discernment and his heart is deceitful. Yet, if a believer is “built up” in the faith he will perceive the positive qualities within his redeemed heart. He will then begin to recognize positive aspects in seemingly negative circumstances, and he will develop the capacity to appreciate virtue in other people. Divine creativity is one of the most effective ways of “building up” the corporate body of Christ. As Paul preached the mystery of Christ to the Church at Colossae it was his responsibility to warn each believer “teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus” (Colossians 1:28b). We also share Paul’s vision for the Church as we prepare each member to function creatively “in Christ” so that He alone will be glorified in our midst.
