M is for Mission

God loves people more than anything. His love moves us to reach out and gather all to His table of grace. Whosoever will may come! Jesus had a mission wherever he went, to glorify His father and to make known the glorious gospel.

Missions is a powerful word, the first letter could stand for  momentum – the inertia of an object that is catching speed as it moves. As the object moves, the velocity increases determining its ultimate distance. In missions it is all about being moved in the Spirit. As we discover the  “Go” in gospel, momentum begins to happen. Step by step, word by word, God gives the Increase.

Celebration and Transformation

The deep impact and momentum of celebrating grace and truth transforms lives. A recent contact in Wilmington was so touched by the message of grace that he said, “I am reading your tract 3 times a day.”

Another time our Wilmington team was reaching out and met someone on the street and led him to Christ, someone observed the prayer from a nearby restaurant came out and said “may I have prayer as well?” We prayed with that person and then someone driving by, who we learned just came out of hospital, stopped the car to ask for prayer! God is moving!

Where are you going?

As the Spirit has free course, and we avail ourselves to God’s ability, anything can happen! John 21:18 says, “I tell you the truth, when you were young, you were able to do as you liked; you dressed yourself and went wherever you wanted to go. But when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and others will dress you and take you where you don’t want to go.”

Where will God’s mission take you today?
