Manifold Grace of God

The “manifold” grace of God refers to the many diverse operations and provisions of God’s grace, united and working together on our behalf under one combined heading. All effort on God’s behalf to communicate and initiate to humanity falls under the caption of “His grace.”

Grace defined is the unmerited, undeserved favor of God given to man for his regeneration, sanctification and redemption. To partake of God’s disposition is to partake of His grace, which is perfectly culminated and demonstrated in His Son, Jesus Christ. Grace is the unmerited favor of God in that it depends upon who and what God is and never upon who and what man is. The source of grace is the Giver and can never be produced by the receiver or responder.

When God thinks of man, He thinks in terms of grace. Therefore, in order to be in agreement with divine viewpoint, we must cast away previous concepts and think “with God” in grace orientation. The concept of grace is infinite in scope and cannot be fully comprehended in the human mind. Remember today that it is by this grace that you are what you are, and therefore, it enables you to view others through the eyes of grace. “For I say through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith” (Romans 12:3).
