Tough act to follow right there. Actually, I just wanted to
share a little bit. School is over. Did you know that? Yeah, so that means all the teachers and
the staff we just go home and rest all summer. It just happens when we show back up in
September. It’s amazing. Actually, that’s not what it means at all. We had a great conference
here last week, two weeks ago. Has it already been two weeks? Holy cow. We had a fantastic
conference here. We got built up, edified.

Best way to finish a school year knowing that just when you cross that finish line, there’s an
oasis waiting for you on the other side. It’s the Body. It’s the messages. And then John Cook and
I got on an airplane, and went to New Orleans. And of course, because that’s what you do. You
go to New Orleans and you celebrate after the school year. All right. No, we didn’t celebrate
after this.

We went to a biblical worldview conference, because that’s what you do when you’re leading
Christian schools. You go and learn how to make sure you have biblical worldview infused in
your education. And we were there. It was put on by uh a very well-known publisher here in
Christian books and speakers like George Barna from the Barna Group and some others. But
you know like the reoccuring theme and the thing that really edified me is that first of all,
education believe it or not is not let me say this right. It’s not a world view neutral enterprise. Did
you know that you could say we have this book and there’s no harm and it doesn’t say anything
that’s like godless or and just got a little taste that you know, one of the speakers said hey, you
know we do these conferences and we meet schools and they use sometimes their books are
secular out of necessity or so.

Let me just show you here’s a science book. We put it up here, and let me read a couple things
about it, and to you from it, and this is what science is. And it’s an evolving thing. And you know
and it sounded so nice, you know. And look. There’s nothing in here until chapter 14 about
evolution. So, you can teach it all, you know, all the way up to there and there’s no agenda. And
then he said okay. And then I’m just going to highlight a few words, and you have, you reread it.
And so he highlights it, and in the first page, 26 times is the word “you” or “your” and the entire
thing was about you. You. You. You. You are. You are. You, you. Science is about you. Your
interpretation. How you feel. How you interpret it. And it was like, holy cow, there’s an agenda
here, right. There is not an agenda in secular books, right? They’re just there to serve us and to
be for and actually there was a real agenda, and it was an eye-opener.

And a couple of quick things from that we took away that I think would be edifying for you to
know. That these are things that are on our mind that we’re concerned about. In school, when
we say it’s not a worldview neutral enterprise, how about things like where did we come from?
Creation, right? How about who are we as human beings? You know, we’re built in his image.
What is our purpose in life? Like isn’t that something that’s being asked in education all the
time? What’s your purpose in life? Well, we know it’s to honor God’s will. But I wonder how
many places are people hearing that, you know.

In this current – in one of the more recent, uh, trying to think of a nice, diplomatic way to say
this. In one of the more recent generations, only 4% of those, that people group so to speak,
that generation have a biblical worldview now. You might say, wait. No. No. I know there’s a lot
of – well, as much as 84 have a sectarianism, sectarianistic viewpoint where they maybe have a
piece of Christianity and a piece of good behavior and a piece of really a lot of different things
put together that they feel is biblical, right?

Though this is, this is Christianity, but it’s mixed in. That Christianity as we know today are
questions about gender. Questions about uh all kinds of things. The biblical definition of
marriage. The, all of these things that are slowly creeping their way into even Christian schools
today. And I was so refreshed to hear people get up and say don’t give place to that. Have the
Bible as your – and there’s even levels of that. If you, when we do our interviews for school, we say we are GGCA, Greater Grace Christian Academy with a capital C. You know why it’s a
capital C? Because Christ is in every area of our school. We say this.

Every new parent, if you’ve been a parent that’s interviewed with me, you’ve heard it. Mr. Shish,
if he’s in there with me, I say we are a school with a capital, and he’ll say C. Because he’s heard
it so many times. But you know what? It’s true. We aren’t just the school that has the name C,
Christian on our tags or on our side, but we believe that Christ needs to be the center of our
school in everything that we do.

And so, we’re learning about that and if you’ve been around me much and heard me talk about
the school, I said yeah, it’s awesome. We have a good group of graduates, but I’m not, I’m not
worried about them. I’m worried about five years from now. Where are they, and as you look
around our Body, you see a lot of really awesome people that graduated five years or more ago,
and they’re following God. And that’s when I know the Word of God has done something
powerful in their lives.

And the last thing I want to say is you could be a Christian school that’s, that just has, you know,
we have chapel. We have really good athletics. We have sports. We have, you know, we do
things in the community. We’re a Christian school, and it’s like that’s nice. But when the rubber
hits the road, and the person’s in trouble, can they even identify what’s going on around them in
their worldview. Is this of God or is it not of God. I’ve either learned the truth, and I know when
something is not the truth, because I can feel it. I can see it. I can sense it.

Or how about the next level, the third level that they can actually go into situations and troubles
and difficulties and navigate their way through with victory, because they know what the plan of
God does for a person’s life. Wouldn’t that be an awesome thing to have for graduates, you
know, how you have to have – that you have good perspective about biblical worldview. You
have spiritual teachers. You have a Body of Christ that has to support the school. What are we
lacking? Nothing.

I walked away from there going we have this amazing school with amazing people and students
who come to us that don’t even know what they need or want. And we are, we are telling them
like this awesome Arman family looking through the window coming to us back to, back to
school by the grace of God; are going to learn and know how to navigate through life and to find
out what the will of God is and to do it and not to be moved by stupidity that is inundating our
Earth today.

We could go on and on with this, but I just wanted to let you know we, we left there with a
refreshed vision, a refreshed commitment to live in the mandate that we have. We have a
mandate from our leaders in the church, and that is to do these things by the grace of God. And
we’re excited about that, and you’re a great part of that. Don’t stop praying. Don’t stop thinking
about the school. And we’re going to have an awesome, amazing work of God that continues in
the lives of our children. Amen. Amen. (Offering and song).

No, I don’t need to do that, but ask you for that. But I just want to have a good time in the Spirit.

Been a good couple weeks, hasn’t it. We’ve been blessed. Will you go through the blessings. I
just say thank you, Lord. You roll the clouds – how about the Canadian fires? During our Convention, what happened? Jesus rolled the smoke out to sea. You can look at it. We didn’t
have any of that. Isn’t that amazing? Yeah.

He did another thing. He did. It’s in Exodus 15. Turn there with me. And we have the singing here.
“Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song.” (Prayer). Uh, changing just a second.
We’re going to get back to Exodus, but go to Isaiah 28. Isaiah 28:20, This is humorous. It’s intended to
be humorous. I’m going to use Jesse Feyers as an actor for it. So here we are, Isaiah 38. I’m sorry.
Isaiah 28:20. So, we’re going to have Jesse in a minute come here, lie down, and the bed is too
short. Okay. So his legs are over the end of the bed. Uh, and he can’t get comfortable.

One time, Bill Alexson, P. Bill Alexson came to Budapest with Sports Power. Do you remember
that? And the hotels, they didn’t have beds long enough for the NBA players. Do you remember
that, P. Bill? He does. How did they sleep then? Okay. Put the ottoman at the end of the bed to
kind of make the bed longer. Okay. Did that work? Um, then it says in vs. 20, “and the covering
narrower than that he can wrap himself in it.” Okay. So, we’re ready to put him to the test again.
Jesse, I need you to lie down. Not there. No, you can leave the – no pillow. No pillow.

So, he’s lying in bed. Okay. And he has a covering. Here it is. And is it going to be enough? Let’s see
how he does. There you go. Jesse, tuck it, tuck him in. all right. Okay. So, all right. So, how’s
that. What happens? Have you been in that? Yeah. What’s the story about? What’s the verse
about? What’s it about? Okay. How is that working? He rolls back and forth. I’ll help him. He rolls
back and forth. He moves around. He’s bigger than the bed. He’s bigger than the bed. His legs
are over the edge. He has a cover. He’s cold on one side. It’s not enough. That’s all that it is.
That’s all that it is. Just not enough.

Okay. So, poor Jesse. All right. Go ahead. Say that to him. Poor Jesse! What’s the matter with
you? What’s the matter? What’s the problem? Poor Jesse. He doesn’t have it. He doesn’t have
what he needs. Poor Jesse. Go ahead. Is your fiance here tonight, Kaylee? Somewhere. Poor
Jesse. Poor Kaylee! Oh, Jesse. He is restless. Doesn’t work. Life is not working for him. He is
not satisfied. He’s not at peace. He wakes up all the time, and it’s just not working. That’s like
what God says about us people. Really. It’s true.

So, in which ways does this apply to life? I think many ways. I think that the Spirit of God has
things to say to us about that. And this is where – when we are born again and we are yoked
with Christ and this changes. So, give Jesse a hand. He did a good job. Did it work? Did it come
across? Thank you.

So, turn to Matthew 11:28. God made us. He really did. He made us. He holds us together. He
designed us to work a certain way. He knows our needs. He made us like himself. And here it’s
incredible text here, vs. 25. To us. Why me? Have you ever thought that? Why me? Why me? I
don’t know why. But I remember when I was born again. I remember when I found this church.
And I remember receiving and understanding things that were really precious and deep and
satisfying to my heart. And I remember leaving the meeting and thinking everyone should know
this. Everyone should know about Christ. They don’t know. I don’t know why. Everyone should
know. That’s how I felt.

And I thought maybe just in a little bit of time like people will know. But now it’s like 50 years
later and I understand it in a way that not everybody does. And they live like that like Jesse on
the floor. And it’s just not enough. It isn’t. It just doesn’t work.

So, vs. 26-27. Let me ask a question. Who was born in Bethlehem? Was it the Father was born
in Bethlehem or Christ was born in Bethlehem or the Spirit was born in Bethlehem? The Son.
Who died on the cross? The Father? No, the Son. When the Son went to heaven and sat at the
right hand, did he send the Father or did he send the Spirit? He sent the Holy Spirit.

Why do I make this point? It’s that there are three persons with three different operations, but
they are one God and revealed to us in our heart. And God is saying the Father and the Son, they’ve always known one another and then we are added. We are added into the relationship
there in vs. 27.

So, here’s a good question for us. Do we know the Father? We have the Spirit of God to reveal
to us the Son and the Father. And the Son reveals the Father. And the Holy Spirit is dwelling in
us, and the bed is not too short and the covering is not too narrow. It is the source of our joy. It
is where our peace comes from. We are yoked up.

Look at vs. 28. Now, um, I’m, we’re writing, Debbie Colby’s writing a book about our time in
Finland and what God did. And we spend a couple hours today working on that. Pray for that.
She’s very good, and it’s going to be a good story.

One of the things we brought out in it is that I was sensitive as a pastor in Finland, that we
would be working in the ministry, but not burnt out. That we would love God. God would love us
and we would love God and love each other, but it wouldn’t be hard. It wouldn’t wear us down. It
wouldn’t wear us out. We wouldn’t be rolling back and forth trying to get covered.

Because that’s kind of a psychological thing that we all have. We all have a makeup where we
need to be covered. We need a covering. We need God to cover us. Like God the Father
covered the Son, and the Son came and did his work. And the Son is a covering for us, so that
we can do his work and be here and manifest the reality of a living God. Whoaa! A living God.
Yeah. What kind of God? A living God. The God that dances. The God that made fish. A God
that made the stars and the flowers and the bees and the insects and all the weird things that
are in this world. That’s why I believe in God, because this world is weird! I would expect God to
be like exceptional. I’d expect God to be not something invented by people.

But like G. K. Chesterton said that the harmony of the human body is like ear, ear, eye, eye, leg,
leg, arm, arm. And when it comes the heart, you would say heart, heart. But there’s only one.
There’s one heart, and it’s to the side. It doesn’t make sense. Why? Because God tells us. He
talks to us about life, and he tells us it’s a mystery. You cannot find it. You cannot get your hands
on it. It’s Christ. Christ is the answer. He is the bed. He is the resting place. He is the Almighty
God. He is the Savior. He is the real God. The God that is free when we are loved by him, and
that we get to know him. Okay. Let’s finish up here.

Chapter 11:28, we could say, Jesus, the whole world is laboring and heavy laden. And he says,
yeah, but you don’t know I have people all over the world. They walk with me. I have people all
over the world that are at rest. I have people all over the world that have my joy. I have people
everywhere. I have people all over place through history. I have millions and millions and billions
of people who have known me. And that I save them by the blood of the Lamb. I save them and
dwelt them by the Spirit. I save them. I call them. I keep them, and I bless them. And they are
covered. And they live this life with joy and peace in their hearts. What a message that is.

So, I was saying to Debbie Colby as we’re working on this project, in Finland we had really a lot
of people coming to our church that needed to learn that this is not legalism. That this is not our,
our hard work. Uh, this is not our personalities or our human efforts. Yeah, yes we are faithful,
but we’re also weak. Yeah, yes. We have things to do, but we also know how to rest. It’s called
faith rest. And if you’re kind of one of those people squirming around on the platform and trying
to find it, then probably it’s a good indication that you haven’t found the faith rest that Christ
came into the world to give you.

Are you saved? I’m sure you are. If you are believing in Christ, you are saved. Well then, why,
why am I, why am I not, why don’t I get a good night’s sleep? You know. And it’s like Jesus says
it here. He says take my yoke upon you and learn of me, vs. 29.

Take my yoke upon you and learn of me. I’m so thankful for our church. I’m serious like I’m
amazed at the yoke the Lord’s given to us. It’s his yoke. I’m amazed at how much people quietly
enjoy their life, quietly enjoy serving. They quietly enjoy their life of faith.

I was thinking about Jesse going down to Richmond. That’s a long drive. Three hours. And be
there all day and then drive back home, and then work through the week and go to classes. And
you guys do that as a team. But I also like it that there is joy in it.

I once had a brother in Hungary who did a Bible study, and I found out like two people were
coming. And then one person. And I told him, I said, I said Yoji, you don’t have to do the Bible
study. I don’t want you to feel like you have to do it as an obligation to me or to the church or
you have to do this. I don’t need, you don’t have to. And he said, oh, please, pastor. Don’t take it
away from me. God is with me when I get on the train and I go to that Bible study and when I
come back with joy. No, that’s my my bread and butter. That’s what I have, and shortly after he
died 29 years. He died in his sleep. Some of you know Vince Yoji. Well, we didn’t know his life
would be short. We didn’t know what was really going on.

But I would like to say that, that you and I have a rest and we have a peace that is from God.
And that’s where our joy is coming from. And I have it. You have it. We need it. We need a lot of
laughter in life. How about it? Why don’t you turn to your neighbor and tell him a joke. Do the
best you can. Go ahead. Turn to your neighbor. Talk to him for a minute. Lighten their load. Build
them up. Love them up. Build them up. Help them out. Encourage them. Bless them. Thank you,
Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. Build them up. Bless them. Tell them they look
good. God bless them. Encourage them. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus.

Here’s a good point. Oh, yeah. Wow, take my yoke upon you and then what did Jesus say about
it? Somebody said this is the only time Christ described himself. He didn’t talk about himself in
that way, but this time he described himself. What did he say? Take my yoke upon you for I am
big and strong. Okay. Take my yoke upon me because I’ve got all means to get everything done.
Take my yoke upon you, because I, I am all the wisdom of God incarnated. Take my yoke upon
you and he said I am meek and lowly in heart. I can get right down there. And I know you.

I know you’re downsitting and uprising. I know your thought afar off. I know when you’re sad. I
know when you’re not. I know when you’re deeply encouraged, and I know when you’re
discouraged. I know you. I am meek and lowly in heart. You cannot fail me. You already have to
the maximum. And I love you. I have decided to love you with an everlasting love, and take all
your sin and die for you so that you would have a new yoke, and it wouldn’t be guilt or fear or
yourself, your complicated self.

Turn to your neighbor and just say, I think you better get rid of your complicated self. Turn to
your neighbor and tell them that drop it at the cross. Leave it. Leave it. Yeah! Leave it. Leave
that old complicated self. That is a yoke you don’t want to bear. That thing goes on and on and
on and talks and talks and talks day and night, day and night, and the yoke is a burden like
Jesse on the platform here.

No! No! Wait a minute! We got it by God’s grace. When they came out of Egypt, they went to the
side. They were on the other side of the Red Sea. They were at the coast there, and Miriam just
started to sing. We turned there. We won’t turn again. Exodus 15:1, maybe you can put it up on the
screen. And they sang the horse and rider cast into the sea. Huge. Amazing.

David, when he went into the ark, brought the ark into the city of Jerusalem in 2 Samuel 6, danced
hard before the ark with all his might it says. With all his might. Oh, wow! Hve you ever gone
into a room all by yourself and danced with all your might? I didn’t want my wife to see me!
David’s wife saw him and despised him. I didn’t want to do that to my wife! So, I went in alone
and danced with all my might and all my heart before God and what God has done for us.
Hey! Hey! Cheer us you saints of God. There’s nothing to worry about. Nothing to make me
doubt. Okay. See how good that was! Hey! The yoke of Christ. The yoke of Christ.

The way of God is not the way of man. How little concentration we give on God and the things of God, and
how much we do with man’s words and thoughts. And we’re rolling around trying to get
comfortable on the airplane. How about it? Talk to the biggest guy in the room here. And just
say, how’s it going when you fly on an airplane? Go ahead. Tell – stand up and tell us. Give us a testimony. Big Dave, how’s it go? You’re eating their food like this. Your elbows are like that. And
you got the little tray with about 15 little cellophone ripple and all those, you know. The cream
cheese falls. And you know, the little knives that are, you know, the whole – it’s like, do they do
that on purpose? Is it humiliating? How about it?

Have you been in a chair, it doesn’t fit. A bed, it doesn’t fit. A covering, it doesn’t fit. Friendship. It
doesn’t fit. A relationship. It doesn’t fit. A job is not fitting. I have something about the way of life,
about bad habits, they don’t fit. It doesn’t work. It’s not working. And Jesus said come to me all
ye that labor and are heavy laden. I will give you rest.

Come on. Will he give me rest? Come one. Will he give us rest? After – I can do the Christian
thing for two years, and then I think I’m done. No. If you’re yoked up with Jesus, a thousand
years is nothing with Jesus Christ. I’d rather be a day in the house of God, a doorkeeper in the
house of God one day, then – how’s it go? One day. And then three years in that and within the
tents of the wicked. It’s nothing. It’s nothing but trouble. That one day in the house of God. A
doorkeeper in the house of God. Yoked to Christ all my life. What a gift! What a blessing! What a
joy! What a peace! What a purpose! What definition! What wisdom! What love! What
relationship and it’s easy he said. It’s easy.

So, I want to help you with that tonight. I’ll read these. Rejoice in the Lord, how often? Always.
You know, we had a Convention on that one year. Guess what happened? The next year was
covid! God said rejoice in the Lord always because covid is coming, and you’re to rejoice in the
Lord always. “All those that put their trust in thee rejoice. Let them ever shout for joy. Because
you defend them. Let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.”

Hey! Don’t be tender and soft with the devil. Get a little rough with the devil. Remember that?
Pastor said that in Throne Words. Get a little rough with the devil. Go ahead. Say that with a
gravely voice. Get a little rough with the devil. Turn to your neighbor and say it. Get a little rough
with the devil. Come on! Give him a kick. Deal with the devil.

“This is the day that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” “Rejoice in the Lord
always. Not only so but we glory in tribulations knowing that tribulation works patience.” “There
is no fear in love. Perfect love csts out fear.” Out! Out fear! Out! Out fear! Not in my
subconscious mind. Out fear! Not going to kind of get in underneath my skin. Worm it’s way into
the heart core of the tree. Have you ever seen a worm goes into the heart of the tree and kills it?
Well, that’s like this stuff I’m talking about. It gets in you. Out! Out! Out! Go ahead. Out!
Yeah! Come on! God is with us. Out! Fear casting out. “There’s no fear in love. Perfect love
casts out fear because fear has torment.”

Hey, don’t gravitate to your own group of people. Don’t
gravitate to yourself. Don’t gravitate to your own loneliness. Don’t gravitate into your apartment.
Shut the blinds. Shut the door. Turn out the lights. Play melancholic music and get depressed
and enjoy the depression. We don’t need you to hang around in some kind of state of
melancholic depression and the negativity that comes as a result. No! The joy of the Lord is our
strength, and praising God is our way of life. And singing with Miriam on the other side of the
Red Sea, and dancing with David with all his might.

And when Haman was hung on the gallows, and the Jewish people started to dance and rejoice
and then all his sons hang with him. And Mordecai became an important person, and they were
rejoicing and sharing gifts with each other and saying God did it. He did it. He delivered us from
our enemies. Wow! Yeah! He that was in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the
shadow of the Almighty. “Rejoice evermore. Therefore my brother and dearly beloved longed for
my joy and my crown. So, stand fast in the Lord my dearly beloved.” Okay.

Closing. Please stand fast in the Lord, Jesse. What’s the matter? What’s the matter? He says, I
can’t. It’s just not working for me. I’m rolling around. As you always say, Jesse, the Lord and
stand fast in him. Don’t back off. Believe it. Enjoy it. Rest. Rest a lot. This is summertime. Have
a great summer in God, but be focused in your heart and worship God. Rejoice a lot. Have good friends. Not have your own society, have your own community, but have one that cares for
others and reaches out. You have other people and we have Summer Alive and so on. Just as
God leads. I’m just kind of shouting out now different things as we close here. Just trying to find
things to exhort you on. It’s hard when you guys are so perfect!

Hey! God did it! He saved us. Our name is in the book. Hey! We got a lot to rejoice, so we’re not
dead yet. Hey! God is on our side and he answers prayer. Hey! Wait a minute. We got food in
the refrigerator tonight. Hallelujah! Hey! We’re healthy. Hey! Hey! We’re not healthy, we could
get healthy. Hey! God is good. God cares about us. God saved us, and he gave us another
yoke, and it is the best on the earth.

People will notice that about you and they’ll say what are you eating? Remember that?
Remember I told it many times maybe cause I haven’t come up with a new story, but anyway it’s
pretty cool. There was a guy in the swimming pool the other day. First lane. He was there. He’s
kind of lame. We talked. I said, are you a Christian? He goes, uh, yes I am, but I’m not a good
one. I said, why? He said because I smoke marijuana. So, I said, listen. You know, I didn’t know
what to say to him. I knew what I wanted, what I could say, but I, he didn’t owe me anything. I’m
just talking to him to minister to him. I said that’s tough. You know, I mean I know. He said, yeah.
I have a lot of pain, because I’m an NFL – he played in the NFL, so he’s in a lot of pain and he’s
old. Very old. And he’s probably listening right now.

All right. So, uh, wait. How did it go? He goes, sincerely, the sweetest thing. He’s not, he doesn’t have peace about this. That he believes in Jesus and he’s smoking marijuana. He doesn’t have peace about it. And I mean, I
could tell, because he said to me, he said, could you, you’re a pastor. Could you tell me, could
you lead me to the Lord. I said, sure. Let’s go. So, we had a talk in the swimming pool.
I’ve had the best talks at that health club. I have had the best talks in the steam room, in the
swimming pool, many times. I don’t know why. Even people come up and talk to me. I don’t
know why. What’s going on? There’s something in the air or something. I don’t know what it is.
But we have a good time.

I am only saying that whatever it is that, that you struggle with in this thing, and me, and me
also. Whatever it is. It’s a little indicator that just check it out. Cause if you are yoked with Jesus,
it’s not like that. If you and I are yoked with Jesus, it’s a lot easier. It’s a lot easy. It’s clean. It’s
powerful. It’s real. It’s peaceful. And we have a new life, and that’s amazing. And people will see
it.

Like my neighbor said to me when I lived in another part of the city of Baltimore, he said to me,
he goes, how do you do it? I go, I don’t know what you mean. He goes, how do you do it? He
goes, I see you take the garbage cans from the side of your house out to the street. I go, yeah.
Like yeah. Like you do it, like, you know. I see you do that and how you do it. Are you on
Prozac? Because I have to take something to get happy, to be happy. I said, no. I believe in

I’m telling you. When you and I are yoked to Christ, when you and I have Jesus Christ in our life,
I’m telling you, we’ve got the peace of God and the life of God in our hearts. You know it. I know
it. We know it. We praise the Lord for it tonight. Amen. Let’s have a prayer.

And I had, I was very hungry the other day, and Jen had made me crab soup. Yes, and I had it
in the refrigerator. I’m not kidding you. That was delicious! That was amazing! I ate it. I could
have been – it was maybe the best experience. That was amazing. So, thank you very much.
