Many believers allow their hearts to become cold because they serve God through duty. This often occurs when people allow familiarity to creep into service or work.
If this is happening in your life, think of the Judgment Seat of Christ (Bema Seat). Ponder the fact that every blood-bought child of God will be there. Jesus Christ will determine in righteous judgment whether any service or good deed was done in the energy of the flesh. “Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is” (I Corinthians 3:13).
One day we will see Jesus face to face. Every person will stand alone before God in a glorified body. The Bema Seat warms your heart as you think about it. No one wants to be ashamed or to suffer loss of rewards on that day. Until the Bema Seat Judgment, “press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:14). Then you will be able to hear the words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21a). Examine yourself (2). May God through His grace teach us all to keep our hearts on fire in our service to Him.
