The Influence of a Servant

We have been given the privilege of influencing this world, by revealing God to the lost. Regardless of the role we play, an impact is always made when a believer functions as a true servant of God. That is one of the reasons it is so important to serve God wholeheartedly. Be assured of this one thing: people are watching the moves you make. They may never read a Bible, but they will read the person who wears the name Christian. If we hold back from allowing Christ to use us in life’s situations, then we are possibly limiting the number of people who may turn to the Lord and be saved from eternal separation.

We are to hold nothing back when it comes to serving God. Our life is not our own because we have been bought with a price. “You are not your own; you were bought with a price. Therefore honor God with your body” (I Corinthians 6:19b, 20 NIV).

The true servant of God realizes that his life is not his own. He never determines the conditions of his availability. He is very loyal and he never expects payment or promotion for his work. Servanthood is a very high calling and one that is not to be taken lightly. Prepare yourself for serving. “Be dressed, ready for service and keep your lamps burning” (Luke 12:35).
