Christ operating through the believer is the highest expression of human life. It is the only life that will please the Father, because it is a life of faith: total reliance of the human personality upon the nature and character of God. II Peter 1:4 explains that it is in reliance upon the promises that one is able to partake of the divine nature of Christ, because therein he escapes the corruption of the world through lust.
Each believer should examine his heart and cast away everything that hinders the flow of God’s life in his mortal body, through the humility and brokenness of conformity to Christ’s mind. We are to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt us in due time (3). Jesus has promised to be the Author and Finisher of our faith (4). He dwells in our hearts so that we might know Him intimately, having the “richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself” (Ephesians 3:19b, Amplified). Jesus has promised to be the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him by doing “superabundantly, far over and above all that we (dare) ask or think – infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams.” (5).
