Our eternal salvation is based upon the character and veracity of the nature of God. God has finished the work at Calvary; you simply believed. It was not just a time of love. It was a time of loves (2). This means that God will love you in the realm of your mind and your emotions. He will bless your soul because of your worth to Him in redemption, your shared inheritance with Christ, your positional standing in the royal priesthood of believers, and for your experience with the Word of God. these are the attitudes expressed by the use of the plural. “And I spread my skirt over thee and covered thy nakedness: (2). The word “spread” is paran, meaning that “with the wing or end of my skirt I covered thee.” The Savior is standing with a helpless child at His feet. Jesus Christ’s perfect righteousness has taken care of the entire terrible, ugly situation that is the result of sin. Spreading his skirt over our nakedness, He totally covers our sin. What a majestic picture of our Lord as redeemer, covering His bride with His robe of righteousness; “I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels” (Isaiah 61:10).
