Whenever you are spending time with someone, ask the Holy Spirit to bring to mind his positive qualities. Think of the many times the person has blessed your life. Meditate upon all the he has done to serve God and to further the kingdom. Pray for him silently in an area of need. Make a positive commitment to base relationships on the Lord Jesus Christ, allowing Him to have preeminence.
This is a beautiful process of the mind. If we could only begin to see one another as perfect and righteous, as God sees us through His Son! We are “[seated] in heavenly places” and our lives are “hid with Christ in God.” We know that our sins have been paid for and that we are “made the righteousness of God in Him” (II Corinthians 5:21b). God knows our potential; He sees the work that He has already done and He also sees what He is going to do. There is no disappointment in Him, and He will give us everything we need to complete our lives. “And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ – right up to the time of His return – developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you” (Philippians 1:6, Amplified).
