Having Truth in the Heart

We are living in a time where there is such a need for truth – to have God’s truth established in the inner man. Many can recite principles from God’s word, but do not let them take residence in the innermost parts of their souls. It is so easy to speak the words of Christianity, but not mean them.

Many individuals have said, “My only goal in life is to get my act together,” and that is the problem; it is only an act, or an external issue. It is evident to all believers that the heart is deceitful and the self-life has been rooted within it. That is why the Lord wants service that comes from a heart motivated by His love (2). He does not dwell on the outward performance, rather He seeks the one who is willing to give his heart to God. “Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts; and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom” (Psalm 51:6).

Jesus came to give us abundant life (3). “He that believeth on me as the scriptures hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water” (John 7:38). God’s provision will come out of the depths of a new heart that He has given to us (4). He wants to establish our hearts in grace (5). “Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it” (I Thessalonians 5:24).
